Travel Tips
What should I do if my luggage is lost, delayed or damaged or if there are items missing?
If your luggage or items in your luggage are damaged or missing, you need to immediately inform your airline company, ideally before leaving the airport. If you have used the services of more than one Airline Company, then you need to inform the last airline that brought you to your current destination, even if you know that the items or luggage were damaged or went missing in a previous step along your travel. Verify with certainty that all the information and details contained in the document provided by the Airline Company are accurate. Ensure that the information that you have provided is exact and complete. Remember that this initial document does not constitute a demand for remuneration. If your luggage is lost or you have incurred additional costs due to the loss of your luggage, you can file a request for remuneration. Communicate with your Airline Company to obtain a claim form. Your form must be submitted in writing and contain a complete list of the articles lost or damaged and their value. You must conserve all receipts for unexpected expenses that you incurred.
What happens if I forget something on the plane or in the airport?
The Airline Companies are generally not responsible for items lost at the airport, aboard land vehicles, in airport waiting rooms, or on the plane after landing. However, airlines and airports do have lost and found counters. You must check with them in such cases.
